The Turin Chessmen are a uniquely artisanal version of the traditional Staunton chess pieces. Delicately shaped by Italian craftsmen, these solid brass and nickel-plated chessmen are perfect for decorative or practical use.

The knights, perhaps, offer the best example of the attention to detail honoured within this set, boasting as they do painstaking touches of craftsmanship. Every other piece on the board enjoys exactly the same level of attention even down to each and every base being covered with a luxury black and gold branded felt base to protect your board whilst in play. The board with its sublime black and gold squares creates the lid of the cabinet and has a dainty printed border also in gold. The board is then edged with fabric stitching all around the board, creating a unique finish and also providing good protection for your board. On the reverse of your chess board is a screen-printed backgammon playing area in a marble silver grey and charcoal colour theme.

The base or cabinet part of this product has a velour-coated compartmentalised insert for keeping The Turin Chess pieces protected. There are also 15 cream and 15 dark charcoal-coloured counters that can be used for draughts on the chess side and backgammon on the reverse. The cabinet also comes complete with backgammon dice (2 black, 2 white and 1 white doubling dice). The pieces are available in both colour versions of this board so take your pick from this version or the green and gold version.
