We are proud of the range of chess sets, pieces and boards that we offer. Here are some helpful tips for keeping your purchased product in great condition.

Chess Pieces

Wooden Chess Pieces Care:

  • Buff with a dry, lint-free cloth for regular cleaning.
  • For stains, use a damp cloth and dry immediately.
  • For tougher stains on lacquered finishes, use a damp cloth with mild detergent.
  • Avoid waxes or polishes for polished finishes.
  • Use automotive polish for scratches on lacquered finishes.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaning material.

    Metal Chess Pieces:

    • Dust with a no lint cloth
    • For uncoated pieces, clean similarly as they are tarnish resistant.

    Stone Resin Chess Pieces:

    • Dust with a dry cloth.
    • Clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
    • Avoid polishes or chemicals.

    Chess Boards

    Gloss Lacquered:

    • Dust with a no lint cloth
    • Use a damp cloth with mild detergent for dirt.
    • For scratches, carefully apply automotive scratch remover.



    Satin or Matt Lacquered:

    • Dust regularly.
    • Avoid polishing or using scratch removal products as it can impact the finish



    Regular Wooden Boards:

    • Dust gently.
    • Apply beeswax lightly every six months.
    • Let dry and buff for a shine.
    • For veneered boards take care due to the thin coating.
